CIC Health and Safety Guidelines and Requirements

For participants in CIC programs, in-person events, and gatherings, CIC has established the following guidelines and requirements.

Requirements

All participants will be required to take a COVID-19 test in advance of the relevant in-person event(s). This can be an at-home test. Those who test positive are required to contact CIC to discuss participation options in advance of any travel. Negative test results do not need to be reported to CIC, but participants may be asked to verbally confirm testing at the event check-in or registration.

Any participant who tests positive for COVID-19 during a CIC event is required to alert CIC immediately and self-isolate. Those who test positive for COVID-19 up to ten days before or after a CIC event are required to inform CIC.

Recommendations

All participants, who are able and eligible, are strongly urged to be “fully up to date” on their COVID-19 vaccines. The CDC currently defines fully up to date as receiving the primary series as well as the most recent booster.

All CIC events are mask-friendly; meal options will accommodate those who prefer to remain masked at all times.

Protocols

As appropriate to specific locations and circumstances, CIC will provide information about local medical and testing resources, make available self-test kits, and provide supplies such as masks and hand sanitizers.

These requirements and recommendations are in effect as of January 12, 2023, and may be modified at any time in response to evolving national, regional, or local COVID-19 recommendations or the requirements of event venues or partners.
