Optional Activities and Excursions for Spouses and Partners

There are a number of optional activities and things to do for spouses and partners that may accompany presidents to Napa, California. All activities are voluntary and prices are per person. Listed below are activities that are held at the Meritage Resort and Spa as well as information about a local winery trolley tour, resort shuttle services, and local art galleries. The Meritage concierge can provide additional information about attractions, local events, and transportation.
 
Trinitas Tasting Room
The Meritage Resort and Spa features the Trinitas Tasting Room in the famous Estate Cave, offering on-site wine tasting with award-winning wines, including the latest releases and multiple varietals. The Trinitas Tasting Room features natural stone, dark woods, and Old World trappings with hand-crafted wines from Northern California including Mendocino, Carneros, and Napa Valley. Prices for wine tastings, pairings, and the “wine maker for a day” experience range from $25 to $100 (excluding sales tax and service charge). Spa Terra
Nestled in the hillside of the Meritage Resort, Spa Terra is an award winning spa set 40 feet underground. The spa offers various facials, massages, body treatments, and packages to resort guests. Meritage Shuttle
The Meritage Shuttle provides complimentary service for resort guests to downtown Napa. Drop off points on Main and 1st Streets are in the heart of downtown Napa, which features dozens of wine tasting rooms and restaurants. Pick-up time from The Meritage begins at 8:45 a.m. and runs throughout the day until 8:30 p.m.
 
Napa Valley Wine Trolley Tour
The Napa Valley Classic Wine Trolley Tour, conducted on a replica of a historic San Francisco cable car, includes: pickup and drop-off from the Meritage Resort and Spa; visits to four wineries (the cost of wine tastings is not included); information about Napa’s history and wines from a knowledgeable guide; and a picnic lunch at the NapaStyle restaurant in Yountville. The cost of the Classic Wine Trolley Tour is $99. Napa Art Galleries
The Gordon Huether Studio creates large, site-specific art installations that are integrated into the architecture and landscape of projects all over the world. The 15,000 square foot studio features a revolving exhibition of Gordon Huether’s art as well as the works of guest artists. Over the course of his career, Gordon Huether has won more than 50 public art awards and completed more than 150 private commissions for airports, museums, civic buildings, private corporations, and hospitals. The Grand Hand Gallery is an award-winning gallery featuring fine art and American craft. The gallery was originally opened by Ann Ruhr Pifer in her hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota in 2004. In 2012, the Grand Hand Gallery opened on Main Street in Napa. The artwork reflects a strong sense of authenticity, showing “the hand of the artist” at work; the processes used to create each piece; and frequently the influence of the particular time or place in which the artist was working.
 
Napa Valley Museum
Nestled in the historic town of Yountville, the Napa Valley Museum provides unique experiences that enrich the community through exhibitions and educational programs.
