Program Overview Share Share this page on Twitter Share this page on Facebook Share this page on LinkedIn Print this page Email this page Page ContentMaking the Case, Fulfilling Our Mission Changes in the philanthropy and higher education landscapes have compelled nonprofit independent colleges and universities—and their State Funds—to make their case even more boldly than in the past. While seeking new ways to increase corporate support of member colleges and universities, State Funds also are looking for innovative ways to enhance public awareness of the important role, value, and impact of traditional residential, liberal arts colleges and universities. To address these critical issues, this year’s 2013 CIC State Funds Annual Conference will focus on the theme “Making the Case, Fulfilling Our Mission.” The conference features a full range of programming, including plenary speakers, panel presentations, roundtable discussions, and opportunities to share best practices. Sessions will explore topics such as major trends in corporate and foundation relations, CIC’s national initiative on making the case for the liberal arts, corporate affiliate programs, scholarship fundraising, web and new media tools to increase visibility, and new concepts for collaborative programs that can help member colleges and their students. Opportunities for networking with colleagues also are a key part of the program. The conference will begin with an opening reception on Sunday, April 28, at 6:00 p.m. Program sessions on April 29 will begin with a breakfast keynote speaker and conclude with an evening dinner in the Quarterback Suite at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. Workshop sessions on April 30 will run through the closing luncheon, which will feature remarks by Holiday Hart McKiernan, chief of staff and general counsel of the Lumina Foundation.
