When calling, please state that you are with the Council of Independent Colleges CAO Institute to receive the discounted conference rate. Reservations made after the cut-off date cannot be guaranteed at the conference rate and will be accommodated on a space-available basis.


The Marriott Rivercenter Hotel, conveniently located on San Antonio’s famous Riverwalk offers 918 well-appointed guestrooms and 82 luxurious suites. The hotel is conveniently located near many attractions including the San Antonio Zoo, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Market Square, the Rivercenter Mall that is connected to the hotel, and cultural and historical landmarks of San Antonio such as the world famous Alamo.

On-site, self-parking is $25 daily, and valet parking is $33 daily.

Driving Directions

The San Antonio International Airport (SAT) is located about 8 miles from the hotel. Upon leaving the airport, take 281 South to Commerce St. Exit. Make a right at the light (Commerce) and continue down 1 block; the hotel is on the right hand side at the corner of Bowie and Commerce.

Transportation Information

The hotel does not provide airport shuttle service; however, there are alternate transportation options:
  • Airport Express provides shuttle service for a fee of $18 (one way). Reservations are required; call (210) 281-9900 to schedule transportation.
  • Taxi service is available for a fare of about $22 (one way).
  • Depending on your point of origin, Amtrak service is available to San Antonio, and the station is located just one mile southeast from the hotel.

Dress Guidelines 

Business casual wear is appropriate throughout the Institute. Business attire is suggested only for the opening keynote address and reception and buffet dinner on Saturday, November 3. If you plan to participate in any of the optional excursions, please be sure to wear comfortable clothes and bring along a hat, sunglasses, and walking shoes.
