Membership Information and Benefits

Membership in CIC's Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education (NetVUE) is open to accredited, independent, degree-granting, colleges and universities interested in participating in NetVUE programs and services and committed to the purposes of the network. Once an institution joins NetVUE, all members of the campus community are eligible to participate in activities, receive services, and access resources of NetVUE. Many programs and services are subsidized by NetVUE and as a result are available at reduced cost to participants of member institutions.

Financial support of NetVUE comes from a combination of membership dues and grant support from Lilly Endowment Inc. Thanks to Lilly’s generous support, dues are modest. Incrementally, Lilly’s level of support will recede by 2020 and future network activities will become self-supporting by dues from participating institutions along with fees for some programs, events, and services. In addition to paying annual dues, member institutions are asked to designate a campus contact for NetVUE communications and activities.

Membership Dues

Annual NetVUE dues are based on undergraduate full-time equivalent (FTE)* enrollment and payable by January 1 of each calendar year. Below is a schedule of dues for 2022 and 2023:

FTE Undergraduate Enrollment 20222023
Up to 599$1,600$1,650
600–999$1,700$1,750
1,000–1,499$1,900$1,950
1,500–1,999$2,200$2,250
2,000–2,999$2,900$3,000
3,000–3,999$3,100$3,200
4,000–4,999$3,400$3,500
5,000 and above$3,700$3,800

NetVUE is a member-supported network; member dues cover a portion of personnel costs and the network's core operations (the biennial national conference, regional and topical gatherings, the consultant and campus visit programs, and some online resources). NetVUE membership dues are modest thanks to generous support from Lilly Endowment Inc.; NetVUE's goal is to keep membership affordable for colleges and universities from a broad range of types and sizes.

* To calculate your institution’s FTE Undergraduate Enrollment, use the U.S. Department of Education’s IPEDS “Fall Enrollment” survey data for the most recent academic year. The FTE Undergraduate Enrollment is calculated by adding the number of total full-time undergraduate enrollment to one-third of the part-time undergraduate enrollment; the sum is the total FTE enrollment.
