CIC Code of Conduct

CIC is dedicated to providing a productive, welcoming, and harassment-free event experience for everyone. By choosing to participate in a CIC event, you agree to read and comply with this code of conduct. CIC reserves the right to take any action deemed, at the sole discretion of CIC, necessary and appropriate, including removal from the event without prior notice or refund.

Participants are expected to respect all national, local, and venue-specific health and safety guidelines that might be in effect when an event takes place.

CIC has zero-tolerance for any form of harassment or discrimination. If you experience or witness harassment, discrimination, or other unacceptable behavior, please contact a member of the CIC staff so appropriate action can be taken.

In addition to harassment and discrimination, unacceptable behavior includes (but is not limited to):

  • Disrupting sessions or other event spaces, including dominating conversation to the exclusion of other participants or failing to follow the instructions of the speaker, moderator, or event staff;
  • Sharing messages or materials that include sexually explicit images or content or otherwise violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws;
  • Sharing general announcements of events, job vacancies, or other commercial promotions, excluding sponsors who follow CIC’s sponsorship guidelines; and
  • Recording event information, including taking photos or videos, without prior consent.

CIC events and programs are for the purpose of professional education and the open exchange of ideas. CIC does not encourage or facilitate any conduct resulting in any agreement that expressly or by implication leads to the illegal restraint of trade, price fixing, or hindrance of competition. Any such activity by individual participants in the context of a CIC program or event is inappropriate.

All participants must comply with instructions given by the event facilitator or CIC staff. Please notify a CIC staff member if you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy.
