Return to NetVUE Homepage Program Development Grants

Colleges and universities that are members of NetVUE are committed to campus activities that encourage vocational exploration by students. Of the 200 NetVUE member campuses, 56 participated in the Programs for Theological Exploration of Vocation (PTEV), which Lilly Endowment Inc. generously funded in the past. Other institutions have invested their own resources, usually on a smaller scale, in vocational exploration initiatives. It is these NetVUE member institutions—those that were not PTEV participants—for which Lilly has provided funding to CIC to be used for NetVUE Program Development Grants. Many NetVUE campus leaders have observed that grants for program development at even modest levels would enable their institutions to strengthen and expand existing programs significantly.

NetVUE Program Development Grants may be requested in amounts ranging from $25,000 to $50,000 for use over two years to deepen, expand, or otherwise strengthen programs that are already underway and supported by the institution itself. Funds may be used for a range of purposes, but not for ongoing faculty and staff costs that the institution is presently providing, capital expenditures, major equipment purchases, or indirect or overhead costs; these expenses are to be covered by the institution. Rather, grants should be used to offset one-time costs of program development and implementation.

This initiative is being administered by CIC with generous support from Lilly Endowment Inc.

Eligibility

NetVUE member colleges and universities that did not participate in PTEV are eligible to apply for funding. Applicants must be currently engaged in a vocational exploration program that could be enhanced or improved by a program development grant. Eligible institutions may receive only one NetVUE Program Development Grant and may not receive a NetVUE Professional Development Award or a NetVUE Vocation Exploration Renewal Grant during the same grant period.

This is the fifth annual round of selection for NetVUE Program Development Grants. In the first four rounds, CIC awarded grants to 108 NetVUE members that did not participate in Lilly’s PTEV program. Up to 40 awards will be made in the remaining round. The application deadline for the fifth round is September 16, 2016. Decisions will be announced by November 18, 2016. Funds will be dispersed by May 1, 2017, for use between May 1, 2017, and April 30, 2019.
