Return to NetVUE Homepage Chaplaincy Implementation Grants

Colleges and universities that are members of NetVUE are already committed to vocational exploration by undergraduate students. Yet many NetVUE campus leaders have observed that these undergraduate initiatives are enhanced when campus chaplaincy is strengthened. The two 2014 NetVUE Chaplaincy Conferences helped participating institutions consider specific strategies to strengthen campus chaplaincy.

NetVUE Chaplaincy Implementation Grants were requested in $10,000–$20,000 amounts for use over one full academic year to refine and implement strategies that align the campus chaplaincy with the institution’s vocational exploration efforts. This initiative was designed to strengthen campus chaplaincy at NetVUE member institutions that participated in one of the NetVUE Chaplaincy Conferences held in 2014. Funds will be used for a range of purposes, but not for ongoing faculty and staff costs that the institution is presently providing, capital expenditures, major equipment purchases, or indirect or overhead costs; these expenses are to be covered by the institution. Rather, grants will be used to offset one-time costs of projects or of program development and implementation.

This initiative is being administered by CIC with generous support from Lilly Endowment Inc.

Current Status

Grants were awarded based on proposals that explain (a) campus chaplaincy needs, (b) the purpose and plan of the proposed initiatives; and (c) the ways in which this NetVUE-supported program would influence the institution after the grant period.
