Special Report: President Richard Ekman’s Two Decades of Service to CIC

After 21 years of service as president of the Council of Independent Colleges, Richard Ekman will retire July 9, 2021. Under his steady hand, CIC has flourished in many ways: Membership has increased by 50 percent; the two major institutes have grown to be the largest annual gatherings of college and university presidents and CAOs in the country; many new programs, services, and partnerships have been launched and have drawn wide interest; and support from foundations and sponsors has expanded dramatically.
