CIC serves non-profit organizations that serve independent colleges and universities.
Benefits
Benefits available to Affiliate Members include:
- News and Publications—Members receive timely reports and email alerts on critical issues as well as CIC’s newsletter, the Independent.
- Reduced Registration Fees—Presidents
and chief academic officers of Affiliate Members receive reduced
registration fees at the Presidents Institute and the Institute for
Chief Academic Officers.
- List Requests—Affiliate Members can obtain, upon request, mailing lists for specific purposes.
- Making the Case—CIC’s website
includes a growing collection of statistics, graphs, and other resources
such as articles and speeches that can assist member presidents and
other campus leaders to make the case for independent higher education
in general and for their own institutions.
- National Voice—CIC speaks out on
issues of importance to independent colleges and universities through
published op-eds, articles, press releases, and books, and conducts
national public information programs.
Criteria
To qualify for Affiliate Membership, an organization must be considered
nonprofit (501(c)3 IRS status), and it must serve independent colleges
and universities.
Dues
The 2018-2019 dues are $295.
