Career Advising

Most seniors at smaller private colleges and universities reap the benefits of having frequent discussions with their professors about career plans. A majority of seniors (52 percent) at non-doctoral private colleges (meaning private colleges without PhD students) talked with faculty members or advisors about their goals after college. Fewer than half of seniors (40 percent) at doctoral public universities (meaning public universities with PhD students and undergrads) felt that they got the same kind of advising from professors.
