CIC
is pleased to announce the election of six new members to the Board
of Directors who will serve until January 2004.*

Dorothy
G. Blaney, president of Cedar Crest College (PA), has been
elected to fill the unexpired term of Richard Kneedler, who was
elected to serve as Secretary of the Board (*Dr. Blaney's term
will extend until 2003). Under Dr. Blaney's leadership, the college
has acquired over 60 major works of art as gifts or permanent
loans. Before coming to Cedar Crest, Dr. Blaney served as executive
vice president for Pace University. Her board memberships include
the Women's College Coalition, the College Board's Council on
Lifelong Learning, and the Association of Independent Colleges
and Universities of Pennsylvania.

William
H. Crouch has been president of Georgetown College (KY) since
1991. He represents Georgetown on a variety of community boards,
including the United Way of the Bluegrass State and the Governor's
Task Force for Minority Student Achievement. In addition, Dr. Crouch
holds a seat on the Commission on Leadership Development for the
American Council on Education (ACE). Prior to coming to Georgetown,
he served as vice president for development at Carson-Newman College
(TN). |

Thomas
F. Flynn is president and professor of English at Millikin University
(IL), where he previously served as provost and vice president for
academic affairs. He is a member of the ACE board of directors and
serves as a consultant for the Association of American Colleges
and Universities. CIC recently honored Dr. Flynn with the 2000 Chief
Academic Officer Award for his outstanding work on the CAO Task
Force. |

George
R. Johnson, Jr., president of LeMoyne-Owen College (TN), has
previously served as associate dean for academic affairs and professor
at Howard University's School of Law, as well as professor at George
Mason University's School of Law. Dr. Johnson has published numerous
articles and books. |

Jake
B. Schrum is the newly elected president of Southwestern University
(TX). He is widely recognized as an authority in the field of educational
advancement, and has recently edited a book, "A Board's Guide to
Comprehensive Campaigns," for the Association of Governing Boards.
Dr. Schrum has served as a college and university administrator
for more than 27 years, including as president of Texas Wesleyan
University, vice president for development at Emory University,
and chairman of the board of the Council for Advancement and Support
of Education. |

Nancy
Wilgenbusch, president of Marylhurst University (OR), is currently
the longest serving president in the state of Oregon. In addition
to her work at Marylhurst, she serves the community through a variety
of corporate and civic boards, and provides educational leadership
to many national organizations, including the Corporate Advisory
Board of the National Head Start Association. |
