2004 Workshops on the Transformation
of the College Library

Please print out this form and fill in the information requested below, so CIC may contact you. Then answer the questions that follow, using no more than three single spaced pages.

2. Please provide the information requested above for each of the persons you would ask to be members of your campus team, if your institution were selected to participate in the workshop. Your team may consist of up to four people.

 

 

3. Which workshop would you prefer to attend? If your team could attend any of the workshops, place a one (1) by your first choice, two (2) by your second choice, etc.

4. Questions to be answered, where relevant, in a narrative form.

a. Please describe the issues currently being discussed by your administrative officers and faculty committees that could alter the role of the library on campus?

b. Has your institution already decided to change the role of the library? If so, please describe the nature of the proposed change and the questions about which you and your colleagues are seeking additional guidance.

c. Do you have, or do you want to have, an institution-wide program in information literacy? If so, please describe briefly your current program or the challenges you anticipate in creating a program.

d. Are you contemplating using information technology to take your library and/or your instructional program in new directions? If so, please describe briefly.

e. Is a major renovation or construction of a library building being planned? If so, are new functional relations among students, faculty members, and librarians being considered?

f. How might attendance at the CIC Library Workshop help you achieve your goals for the library?

g. If it is not obvious from the position titles of the individuals on your team, please explain why that individual is included.
