Open Learning Initiative Summer Workshops

Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, PA) - June 28-29, 2004
Carnegie Mellon University (Moffet Field, CA) - July 7-9, 2004

These OLI Workshops are designed for faculty members interested in using and evaluating online courseware on Causal and Statistical Reasoning, Statistics, Logic, Economics, and Chemistry. The Workshops are intended both to support faculty members in using the online courses and to involve participants in the ongoing development of the courses. Each Workshop will initially cover cognitive principles of effective online education, use of Carnegie Mellon’s online courseware delivery system, and ways to participate in OLI’s ongoing educational research projects. Participants will subsequently divide into separate workshops on specific subject areas (the OLI website elaborates these choices).

OLI is reserving 15 slots for faculty members from CIC institutions. There is no registration fee; and the OLI project has funds to provide travel support and research stipends for a limited number of individuals who agree to participate in OLI’s ongoing research.

Additional program information and links to application forms are available on OLI’s website: www.cmu.edu/oli/summer_workshop
