President Trustee Dialogues

Launched in 2003 with funding from the Henry Luce Foundation, CIC piloted the President–Trustee Dialogues to encourage critical conversations among presidents and trustee leaders. These regional meetings were designed to bring together small groups—about six or seven presidents and one or two trustee leaders from each institution—to examine such topics as board governance, president-board relations, and institutional strategy.

 Final Status

Multiple President-Trustee Dialogues were held each year starting in 2003. The last round of Dialogues, held in 2009, took place at Chatham University (PA) on May 4; Edgewood University (WI) on June 3; California Lutheran University on November 10; and Ursinus College (PA) on October 28. The Dialogues were originally funded by the Henry Luce Foundation, and funded in its later years by the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI).
